Welcome to the beautiful spice island of Zanzibar, where the culture is rich and history abounds. You'll be met at Zanzibar Airport by a Chagga Village representative and driven to your accommodation, where we'll get you started with an introductory briefing before you head out to begin the trip you've been dreaming of.

Smell the spices, admire the architecture, and let yourself be carried away by the call to prayer as you explore Zanzibar Stone Town. Enjoy a town tour through the historic heart of Zanzibar Island, with a chance to see the slave market site, the daily market, House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Palace Museum and the narrow streets — with time for shopping — before driving back to your hotel.

Today you have a choice of activities for the day tour:

• Jozani Forest Walking Tour — Walk through the biggest forest in the Zanzibar Islands, with a chance to spend time with the red colobus monkey (found only in Zanzibar), spot other resident species, and learn about local herbs, uses, and the history associated with Jozani Forest's flora and fauna.
• Prison Island Visit — Visit Prison Island to see giant tortoises and enjoy the blue ocean by snorkeling, then be driven to a natural aquarium to swim with sea turtles before returning to your hotel.
• Safari Blue — Take a special boat for a guided Safari Blue tour, visiting three different sandbanks and stopping at one for a seafood lunch, then snorkeling with a chance to see dolphins.
• Sunset Cruise — Relax at the hotel beach for the day, then be picked up around 4:00pm and driven to Stone Town for a sunset cruise aboard a traditional Zanzibar dhow, before returning to the hotel.

ACCOMMODATION
Amaan Beach Bungalows — right by the ocean in Nungwi. It's hard to be closer to the beach and still on dry land, with large rooms, wooden beds, mosquito nets, tiled floors, a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
