In the morning you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and, after registration, descend to the Crater floor to get up close with one of Africa's seven natural wonders — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the continent's most beautiful, unique places. You'll spend a full day on game drives across the crater floor, with a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site. Continue the afternoon searching for rhino, elephant, lion, buffalo, zebra, gerenuk and more. Ngorongoro is equally famous for its birdlife — at Lake Magadi, in the middle of the crater floor, look out for flamingos, pelicans, Egyptian geese and many other aquatic species. Late in the afternoon you'll drive up the crater rim for a shower, dinner and overnight. ACCOMMODATIONNgorongoro Safari Lodge MEALS PROVIDEDBreakfast & DinnerDAY 3Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti — Tanzania's first gazetted national park and one of the most famous protected areas on earth. En route, there is the option to visit Olduvai Gorge, where the Leakey family uncovered fossils central to our understanding of early human origins. Inside the Serengeti you'll find abundant wildlife year-round, though it's the vast migration herds that draw the most awe. Expect buffalo, elephant, cheetah, lion, baboon, zebra and a rich variety of birdlife. Enjoy an exciting game drive, and in the evening, before dinner, take in a beautiful sunset and a warm shower.
